This is an English translation of our Dutch privacy statement. In case of any discrepancy between the Dutch and English version, the Dutch version prevails.

Mateo Logistics Netherlands B.V. ("Mateo", "we", "us") values your privacy. In this statement we explain which personal data we process, for what purpose, and which rights you have.

Which data we process

We process business contact details of clients, suppliers and partners. This concerns:

Name and job title
Company name and business address
Business email address and phone number
Bank account number (only for outgoing payments to suppliers)
Communication we exchange with you (email, phone)
Shipment details (loading and unloading addresses, contact persons, nature of the cargo)

We do not process special categories of personal data and do not target consumers.

Purposes of processing

We process personal data to:

Execute and coordinate logistical assignments with our carrier partners
Invoice and manage payments
Communicate about ongoing assignments
Comply with legal obligations (such as tax retention and customs formalities)
Improve our services and client relations

Legal basis

We base our processing on:

Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR)
Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR), for example tax retention requirements
Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), for example client relationship management and fraud prevention

Retention periods

We do not retain personal data longer than necessary:

Client and assignment data: during the cooperation and up to seven years afterwards (tax retention obligation)
Other correspondence: up to two years after last contact
Application data: up to four weeks after the application procedure is closed, unless you give consent for longer retention

Sharing with third parties

We only share personal data where necessary for the execution of the assignment or required by law:

With carrier partners within our network, only the data necessary for the run
With our accountant and tax advisor
With customs and forwarding agents for international transport
With government authorities when legally required

We do not sell personal data and do not share it with third parties for commercial purposes.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access to data is limited to employees and partners who need it for their work.

Cookies

This website uses only functional cookies that are necessary for the site to work properly. We do not place tracking or marketing cookies and do not share data with external analytics or advertising services.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Request access to your personal data
Have inaccurate data corrected
Request deletion of your data, insofar as legally possible
Restrict or object to the processing
Have your data transferred to another party
Withdraw any previously given consent

Are you dissatisfied with how we handle your data? You can submit a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
